It was a long, steady climb out of Radotin, the first of today’s three big hills. This first climb (15m/ 450 ft) was on a paved sidewalk separated by a guardrail from a lot of truck traffic. Then, having reached the ridgetop, had a lovely footpath through forest, past a horse farm and small hamlets. There was lots of construction going on – looks like fiber optic going in. Then two more climbs and descents, making about 1000 feet of climbing altogether today. At least it was all on tracks graded for 4×4 vehicles, so it was civilized. The last hour was simply spectacular: uninstructed panoramic views from the ridgetop meadows, looking down into the Berounka valley, on a clear and sunny day. Then the descent through birch- and oak-forest to town.
